Turf Lounge - Toronto
A bunch of buddies and I went to the Turf Lounge on Friday night.
This restaurant is owned by Woodbine Race Tracks. It is a sports bar that has on-site horse betting. There are TV screens all over the place that show every horse race. You can put as much money as you want on any horse you think will win.
I bet on a few horses (Ok.. so what if I bet on about 15 different races). I lost every bet except ONE! I’m lucky the minimum bet was $2… so I didn’t end up loosing that much money.
The Turf Lounge is known around Toronto as a very swanky bar where all the stock brokers go to gamble with the money they earned by gambling on the stock market (I guess that makes sense?). However, the drinks there are the same price as any other decent restaurant in Toronto and if you order from the bar menu… you won’t pay more than $16 for a substantial amount of food. There is the option of ordering from their dinner menu…. which is at best $22 for a burger and at worst $44 for a venison dish.
So, I guess…. it is pretty expensive depending on how you approach it.
Either way…. for a rare occassion, this was a BLAST and time well spent with friends. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good night out on the town.
