Phaneuf is now a Leaf
I’m a huge fan of the Flames so it is sad to see Phaneuf go… but I live in Toronto, so if he had to go somewhere I guess Toronto isn’t the worst place he could end up. Phaneuf is one of my favorite players… along with Iggy, Sid the Kid and Kipper.
I think Burke did well with this trade. He gave up a lot of offensive talent, but the Leafs could not have been playing any worse… so I see this as a win/win for Burke.
I’m sure this is some nice juicy bait for those hopeless Leafs fans to chew on, which will keep them on the hook for those perpetually over priced Leafs tickets!
